How much notice is required to not renew our lease
I have what seems to be a dumb question. I entered a lease agreement with a property management company and although I expressed my desire for a long term lease he informed me in Florida they couldn't sign more than a one year lease but was positive we would be able to renew the lease when the term expired. My lease was from May 1, 07 to April 30, 2008. I never received any notice of renewal and was having some issues with the lawn care so I called the management company. He said the owner desided not to renew his agreement with them and put the home on the market and that the owner was supposed to have contacted me directly. I only found this out this past week and the lease is up at the end of the month. Still have not received written notice, is this OK for them to do? Even with the terms of lease ending April 30th, aren't they supposed to give me written notice that it will not be extended. I am OK with having to move but 3 weeks is not enough time for me to find a new home. What are my rights as a tenant in Florida? The agreement is with the rental company is it they're responsibility not the owners to give me the notice? I have left a message with the property manager to have the owner call me and still no call. Any advice on what to do, I am OK with leaving but I need a little more time.

    Thank you for any information!

They will have to give you the notice required in the lease, it would normally be at least 30 days, or can be 60 days in some.
But with that after the non renewal, it would go on to a month to month rental but the notice required to end would be the same as the notice required in the lease.
