Any cures or treatments for Alopecia
Hello my name is Clay I'm 19 years old, and I have Alopecia. Alopecia is when you loose all of your hair from your body. Is there a cure out there for this, because I heard someone told me that the have the cure in Cuba, and I am forbidden to go there because I am American. Can any body help me out with this? I will really apreciate it.

I suffered from Alopecia Aereta, where you don't lose ALL hair just some. I noticed bald spots on my head. They were in different areas and in different sizes. I went to the dermatologist and was given steroid injections in my scalp every 6 weeks plus a foam called OLUX to put on the scalp everyday. My dermatologist said there was no cure. I do have an acquaintance that lost all of her hair except her eyelashes and she also said there was no cure. I was 45 at the time I noticed my hair coming out. My son who was 16 at the time had 3 wrecks in 3 months. The doctors said STRESS was a major culprit. So, I used the OLUX foam as directed and used it WITH rogaine as directed. It helped some, but my hair loss continued. Since alopecia is also an autoimmune disease, I started taking vitamins to help my immune system. I take 1000mg of bee pollen 2-3 times a day, along with a hair and nail vitamin and a B complex vitamin and a multi vitamin. The bee pollen was the first I took and either it was my immagination or it worked. I have all of my hair again, and I faithfully take my vitamins every day. I did notice that when my hair started coming back in, though, it comes in really curly, sometime not brunette but white or gray. WHO CARES!! I'm just glad to have my hair back. I hope this helps you. I did a lot of research and doctors visits but really think it was the Bee Pollen that helped.

There is a National Alopecia Areata Registry in the USA, and they have a ton of information. They are currently researching Alopecia. They have resources on their own website, and have posts on others, such as Facebook etc.
