There are two sets of wires to your HVAC unit. One is the much thicker main power at 220 VAC and the other is a small low voltage bundle of control wires at 24 volts. Which one did Mr. Doggie chew and did he/she go through the entire wire?

Hopefully it was the low voltage, which we'll assume it was. Turn off power to the HVAC unit, carefully skin back the insulation around the damaged area, and expose the individual control wires - most likely six and they all have different colors. You can simply reattach them color-to-color, but make sure you insulate them individually and as the completed bundle. When done, turn power back onto the unit. Should work.

If you aren't good at electrical, please get a friend who is electrical to do this. It is normally an easy repair, but screw it up, and you blow the fuses on the control board on the HVAC unit and then have to get an AC&R technician at a healthy chunk of change.

Best of luck. Not a hard repair, just be careful, take your time, and make sure the wiring is well sealed to protect the splices from the elements.
