    Medicare/Medicaid Status
If I claim my parent as a dependent (I qualify since their only income is Social Security), does that affect their medicare/medicaid status? Or more directly, does it affect their masshealth (state sponsored health insurance, similar to medicare/medicaid with income hurdles) status?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It will NOT affect their Medicare.

It MAY affect the MassHealth or Medicaid. You need to call Massachusetts and ASK.
