Mobile home repo 17 years ago
I had mobile home repossessed 17 years ago, filed a notice with the State of CA Housing & Community Development office a 'notice of transfer' indicating I no longer am the 'registered owner'. Now, 17 years later, the county assessor is trying to have me pay back taxes because HCD still shows me as registered owner. I told the county that I don't own this, they say they can't change it until it is changed on HCD records. The HCD says they can't change it until the bank changes the ownership. When I contact the bank listed as the "legal owner' of the unit per HCD, the bank says they have NO KNOWLEDGE of the mobile home. I am in an endless loop, and feel like a human football being tossed back and forth between all these agencies. What can be done?

Have you checked with the DMV as to who the legal owner shows.
How is living in it, where is this mobile home.
I am sure the current legal owner ( if there is one) would be surprised to get an eviction notice from you, I am sure they would be fast to help clear this up.
