    Can I have children?
I am a 24 year old mum of one to a 5year old. I had birth to my daughter 2 weeks after my due date I had pethedine and an epidural my daughter was born by ventouse.
During my labour my womb had been piereced by a cathatar I was bleeding quite a lot and there were lots of clots. After giving birth I was sent down to theatre to have a full epidural to have the tear in my womb stitched back up and have some placenta removed that was still left inside me. The op worked fine and I was sent back onto the maternity ward I had to have a blood transfusion over 24 hours.
After 6 weeks I went back for my 6 week check and everything was fine. Im just concerned now as my partner and I have been trying for another baby for well over a year with no luck at all so I was wondering if maybe this would have caused or could have caused any problems for me.
I know I should go to the doctor and seek advice there I just wanted to see what you thought.
    Many thanks

Much depends on how severe the tear was and where exactly it was. Also are there any adhesions or scar tissue at the site? It may not effect your being able to get pregnant, but it may be something they check to be sure the stability of the uterus was not compromised in some way to cause problems in the pregnancy... such as an increased chance of a uterine tear later on. Obviously, as you said, you will need to see your consultant about it to go over the prior procedure and all the details involved.
Your trying for over a year may or may not be perfectly normal. It can be very frustrating when you already have a child, so you figure your body does what it is supposed to, but you find getting pregnant again doesn't come easily. Fingers crossed for you!

This won't help with understanding your uterine wall strength, but something I thought id throw in there, since adhesions were mentioned.

Acupucture and massage therapy, especially with exercise can do wonders for this, not to mention the acupuncture can supposedly increase fertility. I can honestly say I wouldn't be a father today if my wife had simply followed the western med advice (take drugs or get a hysterectomy)... thanks to our acupuncturist, our CN-midwife, and our massage therapist, my wife was able to have a beautiful child. Took a couple of years of work to get her healthy, but it was worth it.

Just throwing that in there if you are in fact experiencing any adhesions or cyst pain that can affect your chances.
