Aloha breeze ceiling fan remote control does not work

I wired the white, blue and black wires from the fan to the remote. I wired the white from the remote to the white from the ceiling and the red from the remote to the black from the ceiling... nothing. I switched the red from the remote to the red from the ceiling... nothing. Please help:(
