    How to fix scoliosis
I am 12 years old and my school checked every kid for scoliosis and I have it. What can be done to completely get rid of it. I am only starting to get it. Is there anything other than a brace that I can use to fix it?:(

My son has a slight case. The doctor just suggested that we keep an eye on it at his yearly physical. He said sometimes is does not worsen. In my sons case they are not suggesting any type of treatment. He said if treatment was needed that a chriopracter would be first before a brace. Try not to worry, if it had been really bad there would be a referral to see a doctor. One thing they did say was for him to sleep on a firm bed... no sleeping on the couch.

My son was warned years ago (1985) about scoliosis after a school check. It turned out that he had to change how he positioned himself to watch TV. He would lie on the carpet in front of the TV and half-sit propped up on his elbows or would lie on one side facing the TV. He made the changes and varied his position, and has had no problems with his back.

Maybe you always sit a certain way or in a certain position?

Much of the newest research is showing that bracing is useless. It will ultimately lead 1 out of 3 patients into surgery, and doesn't show any decrease in actual scoliosis cobb angles.

You need to check out The Clear Scoliosis Institute. It is a non-profit foundation, aimed at the successful Non-bracing and Non-surgical correction of Scoliosis.

Here is a video testimony of a girl with 60+ degree cobb, which was reduced to 15 degrees, without surgery or bracing.
