    Painting over black tar
Our roofing company did a poor job on the seams of our roof, where the shingles meet the stucco. It is about a 4 to 6 inch length above the shingles and looks like our three year old painted it. We are very unhappy. They want to paint over it. What can be done? Should we let them paint over it just to move in? I have been told that you can't paint over tar. These guys are idiots and want to scrape it off. Its not working.
    Help... Please.

Can you post a picture of it. If it is where the roof meets a wall they should have used metal sidewall flashing not tar. Paint won't stick to the tar.

I agree, there must be some flashing at this point, you can't just tar that connection and paint does not stick to tar.
