    Mold in air conditioner unit
    I am not sure I do have mold and mildew in my air conditioner unit but I need to know the syntoms when you have mold in your air conditioner unit. Please let me know.

    If it smells like mold you have mold. If it smells like mold you have mildew. It's essentially one and the same. If what you smell has a musty smell - then you have it. I would suggest getting rid of the mold or mildew before you use the air conditioner this summer as you will be sending the mold spores throughout your home if not properly cleaned.

Hello all, When I turn on my window AC unit (was stored in an attic for two years) it stinks of mildew and mold. I power washed the inside of it and also sprayed a weak bleach solution on the coils and wherever else I could reach. The smell is still present. Any suggestions? Thanks, RSM
