    Hey, can anyone help?
I'm new to this comm. Was wondering if anyone knows how to get the courts to help me make a lower monthly payment on an unpaid motor accident judgement? The plantiff's lawyer said $250 a month on a 12% repayment. I can't afford that amount, need to know how to get it lower in order to get my DL's unsusp.

I don't know but you may want to post this in the Law section (under Money & Services) with a more specific title like "reducing court ordered payments?"

That way, you will attract someone who WILL have an answer for you!

Just some helpful hints! Lol I wish you the best of luck!

    Hello hook:

Well, if you can't afford your payments, then you can't afford a lawyer.

You need to petition the court for a reduction. Assuming you appeared pro se (without a lawyer), then write a letter to the judge asking for a hearing to consider a reduction. Send a copy to the prosecutor. Tell him that you cannot make the payments, but that you want to, and WILL if they are reduced.

The judge ought to consider your letter to be petition. Will it work? Probably not, but I don't think you have any other shot.
