    Still no period
I left a message on here a couple of days ago and I didn't get any responses back, please anything would be helpful! My name is Cheryl, Iam 25 with trying to get pregnant 2nd time around. According to the ovulation calender I was ovulating from my last period of Feb 19 around March 1-6, me and husband had sex during that time. It March 27 and still no period and I have taken 2 test said negative and then went to the doc and that said negative. Could I still be pregnant and nothing showing up yet cause it may be too early? Help please

First of all, the tests done at the doctors office are the same tests that you buy at the store, so they are no more sensitive in determining pregnancy then the rest. All women's cycles are different, their periods are different lengths, durations, and they ovulate at different times. The average cycles are 28 days with ovulation at 12-14 days after the first day of their last period... but really, this isn't the average for every woman. So, looking at it from that perspective, its easy to see why some women(who possibly ovulated early in their cycle) show up on a pregnancy test immediately with a missed period, when some women (who may have ovulated at the end of their cycle) haven't had enough time to build up the hcg in their systems, and there for the levels aren't high enough to register on hpts. This is why its usually suggested to wait until you are aweek late to test, so the hormones have more time to build. However, some women still don't register on hpts,a few months,, even at 6 months pregnant or later(though that is fairly rare).Taking a qualatative blood test at your local hospital will give you more accurate results for typically the same price as an hpt ($10) however, this still only gives negative or positive readouts. So if your hcg levels still aren't high enough, they won't register. If you get a negative, wait for your next period. If missed, test again, and if negative, its time to see your doctor. A more sensitive blood test (quantative blood test, which measures the exact amount of hcg in your system) will likely be performed at that point. Good luck
