    How do you remove names from a title?
    I have 4 people listed on a title, three are deceased. Their death certificates are recorded, yet they still hold the ownership of the property. My name is not on title, I am the granddaughter trying to get on title.
    How can I fix this? Do I have to hire a lawyer?

    I believe this is a situation for an attorney since so many legal issues are involved here.

    How were the names listed on the deed. If they were listed with rights of survivalship then the last listed person is the owner and all they have to do is file a new deed showing just the one as the owner.

    If they were all joint owners, then the heirs of the others have claim to each share and this has to go to probate court.

    You need an attorney to sort this out
