    Featherlite plus line trimmer
I have a featherlite plus line trimmer that is running really bad. Mostly it tries to stall when I squeeze the gas. Where can I find a web site that will let me purchase the fuel filter and pre-cleaner / air filter for this. I've checked my local walmart and Lowe's to no avail.
    Thanks

I like a product called Sea Foam -- it is like a carb cleaner

Put about a tablespoon in gas tank -- let it set over night and

Put some in intake with air filter off -- got it running again

    Ace

    TrueValue.com

My Ryobi leaf blower had a filter in the tank -- looked like a cigarette filter --

I removed tank -- tipped it upside down and back sprayed very clean with

Industrial cleaner -- LPS brand -- NO FLASH -- Electro Contact Cleaner

I agree with Biggsie, Sea Foam is worth trying. These small engines have carbs the size of your thumb and can get clogged with sludge and debris , especially if they sit over the winter with fuel in the tank. They can be dissasembled and cleaned but you need the fingers and eye sight of a 10 year old. A new carb ffrequently cost the price of the whole unit when on sale, I think it is the strategy of some stores. Sears want $75 to rebuild a blower or weed wacker carb.

Thanks guys, I didn't even think to add carb cleaner. I will definitely try that. Any ideas on a replacement filter. The only way I've seen is to buy a large filter like my rider has and cut it down.

Your wacker uses a foam collar type of filter. You may have to shop around to get the exact replacement. You can usually wash them in fuel, dry and add several drops of oil and they are as good as new, almost. I have seen them at True Value Hardware but be sure you have your old one with you to match, several companies use the name Featherlite.

You may be able to fashion your own filter from another filter large enough to make your own in a have to case, just until you can get the original filter.

My trimmer only works if I hold it so that the fuel is up to the top. It appears that a tube should be in the tank to feed the fuel to the engine when the tank is low. What part or parts will I need to fix this and where can I get them? Thanks!
