My wife an I were going to buy peel and stick tile from home depot to put in our basement. We were not planning on just relying on the adhesive on the tile, we were also going to set the tile in a separate adhesive. The gentleman at home depot didn't recommend peel and stick over concrete floors because the corners sometimes pop up. Anyway, we told him we wanted to still buy adhesive and set the tiles in the adhesive. Does anyone have a recommendation for me? Do you think we can do this in the basement over the concrete floor. We really don't like the dry back tile designs. The peel and stick has a more homey design and is the same price.

You can lay Peel and stick on concrete or wood sub floors if they have been given 2-3 coats of adhesive primer. The cement floor must not have any sharp elevation changes from cracks. If you plan to glue I see not sense in using Peel and Stick. You mention designs and a homey feel but if you are looking in a large store you will find hundreds of designs. There is also a Peel and Stick tile that allows you to grout like real ceramic. One type you just use spacers and grout with their redi-mix. The other style gives you a beveled edge on two sides and you fill in the bevel with grout, the later is more difficult to do.
