    Garage Door Opener Trouble
I have a ten year old Legacy overhead door opener from "Overhead Door Company". My remote will open the door but I can not close it with the remote. To close the door I have to use the wall button, push and hold button till the door is completely closed. If I let go of the button before the door is closed then it will reverse. It has the two obstruction sensors (infra red beam) at the bottom corners of the door. One has a solid green light the other is flashing red. Could these be the trouble? I thought that to jump the conections at the back of the operator where the wires connect would bypass the sensors to see if that was the problem but the remote still will not work to close door.
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

Jumping the wires will not work, they are designed not to. You may have a bad sensor. When the sensor isn't working properly they are designed to go UP for safety. You can check to make sure the wires going to the sensor with the flashing red light are not touching each other any place. Then check to make sure they are alinged properly, if you do this and still have problems I would say it is the sensor.
