    Asking for joint custody
My ex and I have been divorced for 6 years. He had every other weekend and Wed. afternoon visitation. He has always done the weekends but never the Wed( I guess it didn't quite fit into his schedule... ) He recently got remarried to a very nice women who happens to make A lot of money. They are now building a 800,000 home in the town I live in. After our divorce he lived in a mobile home about 20 min away in a neighboring home. We have 3 very busy children (14,13,10) He has NEVER been there for coaching, carpools, pickups after practices or school, conferences... you get the picture. Now, he has just informed me that when his new house is built he will ask for half-custody and eliminate child support. If I don't agree with half -custody and I won't. What are my options? Just because he wants it... can he just get it... Meanwhile it will be his new wife who will be with the kids as he works till 6:30 everynite and I am a teacher and am home with the kids after school EVERYDAY Thanks for everyone's help

Well, it's up to the judge, as it always is. While I don't think he will get 50/50 if you show that he didn't do the Wednesday visits and didn't participate in other school events he can probably sway the judge a little. He is likely to get every weekend instead of every other just because he is closer and can probably convince the judge that he is really trying.
