92 civic lx engine turns but does not start up
The car is a honda civic but the gentleman from whom I bought the car from said he had the motor swapped out. He is not sure what car the motor came from because the mechanic who did it for him passed away days after. The Car is stick and I have no idea where to begin. The guy I bought the car from said he bought a new alternator, battery and timing belt. When I tried turning on the engine the battery would get weaker and weaker. I left the car as is and when I returned from work the battery was completely dead. Can the start up problembe the battery or is there other problems. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Thoroughly check all your fuses and also check and make sure your battery cables are tightly connected to the terminals. If you can wiggle off or move them with your hand they are too loose.

If the battery is giving enough power for it to turn over strong it is probably fine. If it won't, you need to replace it, but it still may not be the cause of the problem. There are three things you need to check to make sure of to know the care is getting what it needs to start. Spark, fuel, air. Check and make sure all three of those are being supplied to the cylinders.
