    Hipaa law violation
    My husband and mother in law went to cvs and ingles pharmacy and without my consent or knowlage were able to get print outs of all my medications for the last year is this not a clear violation of my privacy and the hipaa laws and what can i do do i sue the pharmacys or my husband and mother in law we are currently going through a divorce and i do not wis for anyone to know my rx information :mad:

    I wonder just how the pharmacy decided on their own to release such records. Normally only the person who actually was prescribed medications are able to get these records from a pharmacy. I would tell your attorney about this deceit on their part immediately.

    This is exactly why HIPAA was enacted. I hope you sue the CVS for releasing your PHI

    I don't see that a lawsuit is viable. There may be a violation of the HPPA regulations, but a lawsuit requires damages. There are no damages here.
