    HKDRV - what is it?
I keep getting the error box on start-up:
    "HKDRV Driver is Absent!"

I can click it off, but how do you fix this and is it a necessary component to run the system? I have a Toshiba laptop and from what I have researched this problem seems specific to the Toshiba. If it is a big problem will Toshiba fix it under a "recall" perhaps?

Just exactly what is this driver supposed to do?

My laptop works but there have been changes I notice since I received this error message.

This is your CD/DVD driver (assuming your have a Toshiba). If you Google the error messages you will find a lot of info about it.
