    Opt
I am living in US since August 30, 2000 on F1 Status. During OPT what Taxes I need to pay (State, Federal, Social Security, Medicare) and what percentage is applied to OPT. Actually my company is deducting as they deduct for H-1B. I was wondering, that during OPT I only need to pay State and Federal TAXES and there will different Percentage than H-1B. Can you please provide me information or refer to any document if you can. I be appreciate for your help.

    Thanks

The key is your visa status. If you were on H-1B, then you owe the SS and Medicare taxes. If F-1, you may be exempt.
