Finding Out Body Fat Percentage
What is a way that I can find out my body fat percentage without any tools or going to the doctor; basically I would like it to be simple enough for me to do it in my room.

Without a caliper, you can't do much, and that's not even very accurate... you really pretty much have to go to a doctor.

If you really don't feel like buying special equipment, the local gym should have a scale that measures body fat.
Or you can go to one of those home living stores (bed bath and beyond... linens and things... etc), use the scale, and run.

I think the scales only measure weight, body fat is usually determined through a variety of methods including water tank submersion, etc.. But your best bet is to really go to a doctor.

Very true... but if you're just wanting to know because you wanted to start working out to a certain body fat %... etc, going to the doc and having special tests done is a bit of a hassle.

Scales today can measure rough body fat, bmi, and % water as well as weight.
You take your socks off and it uses electrical resistance to determine this... not necessarily perfect... it requires inputs for age and gender, and I've not seen the numbers on my scale compared to other methods... but it's a start. Also $50 and higher.

Another way is to test your BMI - Body mass Index, which is a meaurement that is calculated from your weight and height, this correlates to the percentage of your total weight that comes from fat as opposed to organs, bones and muscles. The higher a persons BMI, the higher percentage of fat in their body. This is not a perfect way, but it one to consider if you don't have acess to calipher. Or go to: BMI - Body Mass Index: Introduction | DNPAO | CDC they have a calculator you can use yourself.
