    Written promises
I bought a townhouse last June. It was inspected and some of the known deficiencies were repaired. The windows in one of the rooms needed repairing. When I went to sign for the house, the then owner said that parts for the windows were ordered and he gave me the telephone number of the person that had ordered the part and the then owner also wrote on piece of paper stating that he will pay any additional funds it costs to repair the windows (my realtor had him write that note). The problem started when I tried to get in contact with the window guy whom I left several messages for. Finally when I did get a hold of him he stated that the parts can not be ordered. My realtor got in contact with the sellers realtor after several tries. Finally the sellers realtor told mine that they client was not going to pay for any repairs. I am totally fed up. Besides that problem I had to get the leak in the bath tub fix. The toilet had covers on the reservoir but when I got the house I realize that the cover was concealing a broken reservoir cover and messed up handle. The washer is broken. I had to fix the hot water hose connected to the washer. One of the closet doors partially fell out. The sliding glass door needs replacing and the vinyl siding is coming apart. The refrigerator was full when I check the house out... when I got it it was filthy, rusted and took an entire week to clean. The kitchen sink was full of mildew especially around that broken piece I think is called an air gap. I am aware that most of these problems were well hidden when I did my inspection so am just out of luck. Believe it or not but there is more. Is there anything I can do? The ex owner is a cop and I am afraid he might come after me. During the whole ordeal of trying to purchase the house both the seller and his realtor were aggressive and somewhat rude... I should be able to refrigerator get the promised windows repaired or replace... right? Help please.
