    Apply Standard deduction on Dual-Status tax filing.
    If I apply Standard dedcution on Dual-Status tax filing, what will happen?

    It may get rejected, or it may not. Depends on who reviews the return.

    You MAY be entitled to the standard deduction if you were on F-1 or J-1 prior to switching to H-1 or L-1 AND you are an Indian citizen.
