    Jail sentencing for a fight?
    My husband got arested last night for fighting[he beat up the other guy] and called me this morning from jail, I live in Texas how long do you think he will have to serve time?

    Fights in my county, they just keep you until you see the Judge and then usually call it time served and give you a 2 to 3 hundred dollar fine. Plus any other fines for the night. If he has no record that is most probably what they will do.

    Hello megan:

    Well, it's not that simple. If the other guy is really hurt, and the DA is a jerk, your husband could be in for a LONG, LONG time. Plus, there's a lot about your husband that we DON'T know that a judge WILL know...

    If you want to lessen his sanctions, hire a lawyer.

    OK so just to make things clear my husbands only 18 and has a CLEAN record. This is the first time he ever been arrested.

    Was there other complications like ex suggested?
    Was it his fault and how bad was the other guy.
    If it was more than a simple stupid fight they were both at fault for that would help knowing to answer.
    Oh and the big one is anybody pressing charges?

    Many factors, and the biggest is how hurt the other guy is, bruised up is a lot different from in the hospital on IV with broken ribs and a fracure.

    So it can go from a few nights in jail ( till you can make bail) and then a fine and probation, to several years in jail.

    Also was drinking part of it, like they were at a bar and >>>
