No. You cannot choose to have a multiple birth, or choose the sex of your child. That's the wonderful surprise!

Thankfully the answer is a flat out No. When science meddles far enough to allow people to choose how many babies they want and what sexes they want, its going to be a scary society to live in. If you are meant to have twins, a boy and girl, you will. If not, then no. Taking fertility treatments such as Clomid tend to cause more multiple fetus pregnancies, BUT this is typically only prescribed to couples who have been trying for over a year to conceive naturally and no success etc. Also, you then run into the risk of having no only two, but up to 6 or more baby's growing in there at once, and then you run into high risk pregnancy, high risk issues with having some babies being stronger then others, running the possibility of having to "reduce" the amount of baby's you are carrying, so the others can survive, etc. That is all stuff that is way too rough to think about, much less run a gamble for, just to get your dream of twins (which could easily turn out to be all girls, or all boys) Not to mention all the financial and emotional issues involved. One kid at a time is expensive and emotionally taxing enough, esp if its your first time. I use to think that I want twins, a boy and girl, when growing up. When I got pregnant with my first son, they said it might be twins, and Iwas a bit anxious about it, now that I was actually expereincing pregnancy first hand and not to mention I as young and had a limited amount of money, and newly married. We found out it was just one boy, and while I had a small amount of disappointment over that, I can tell you that disappeared real fast. Not only was my son a pure joy, but the sheer work that goes into the pregnancy, labor, and raising of one little kiddo at a time, is tremendous. I was so glad that I was taking it one at a time haha.

I'd love twins too. Something about 2 little ones is just plain exciting. Expensive but exciting. Lol There are web sites that have tips on increasing your odds of having twins. I was just looking at them yesterday as a matter of fact. You should check them out. But the main factor is hereditary and like buggage said fertility drugs. But if you don't need them they are extremely costly and can cause more problems than help. So my advice is surf the web and it couldn't hurt to give there suggestions a try. I also found a lot of the web sites had the same tips on trying to conceive twins. So good to you. Hope this was useful to you.
