I have moved your post from forum helps to landline, about phones.

I have no real idea how to do this, if an splittler does not work,
I have always had to have separate jacks when I have had mine hooked up

First we need to figure out what you want:

    Dish line normally isn't dedicated.
Telephone line would then be the same as the Dish line

Computer line, could be DSL in which case it's the same line or it could be a dedicated 56K modem line.

Can we assume only one jack in the house/apt/flat/condo/teepee or whatever.

Let's make the first questions easy:
    1. Number of phone numbers?
    2. Number of locations (jacks) needing to be hooked up? e.g. kitchen, TV, bedroom
    3. Is computer line DSL?
