Maybe you know what this is?
I have a 12 year old cocker spaniel. He has this bump above his eye. It looks like a skin growth, and it looks like it is barely holding on. I gave him a bath tonight and I barely rubbed the towel across the bump and it bled a little. It did not seem to phase him. It seems like he hasn't even noticed the bump since it's been there. I do not think he feels it at all. I was wondering if anyone might know what it is and how I can get rid of it myself without having to pay an arm and a leg for a vet. Any advice would be great. Thanks

My Lhasa had one late in life, I can't remember what the vet called it. His bump was more like a cyst, looked like a large sty. The concern was that it would cause undue rubbing on the cornea and affect the vision. My dog's health was not good enough to consider removing it. My dog went blind (unrelated) a year later and the vet would drain it when it filled with puss/blood (& got really big) but otherwise didn't seem concerned. I would also squeeze (as instructed by the vet) it in the tub when bathing him to relieve the pressure. A warm compress with epson salt would make it very easy to drain. It never seemed to bother my dog. Talk to your vet and make sure you get a proper diagnosis.
