    Debt collection judgement against me.
Recently, debt collectors confiscated all my savings and checking account money I had in the bank ($1500.00) for a credit card debt that I defaulted on about seven years ago. They also froze my two accounts from any future deposits going in totaling more than $5500.00. The total amount of the debt is only $2180.00 which includes penalties and interest fees.
My question is: Can they come to my home and take my personal belongings. And can they take my car?

While they do have the option to levy personal property, most companies do not.

I know where I live, there is a minimum of $500 bond that must be paid by the creditor before the sheriff will even attempt to levy any personal property.

If they got to your bank accounts, that is probably where they will stop.

    Good Luck!

Check the statute of limitations for this kind of debt. If they did this after the statue of limitations ran out, you may have some recourse. Good Luck
