    Ground wire connection for OLD wiring
    Hello,
    I wired up my basement with new wiring but hooked it in to old wire supply that is in a metal case and only has two wires. IS there anyway to make the ground wore in the new wiring functional?
    Also, when wiring the outlets, I tire the ground wire to the metal box as I was supposed to in the first outlet and in the next three I just tied the ground together to each other... is this OK?

    There HAS to be a way. We are NOT allowed to extend ungrounded wiring. If there is no means for ground in this cable then you CANNOT use it for a feed. You MUST find a grounded feed or go back to the panel.
    Tell us more about this cable. Is there a thin aluminum bonding strip inside with the two conductors?

    Absolutely not! You MUST ground the metal box first and foremost. Then you ground the devices.
    Sometimes a metallic box can ground the devices, but the devices can NEVER ground the box.
