    Inverted private parts/pit bull
My female pit has an inverted vagina or vulva, what ever it is called. She is in heat right now and I can't afford a vet. I was told by the previous owner that if she were to give birth it would most likely kill her in the birthing process. I don't want to take any chances that it would.

It's possible for her to give birth if the prolapse is not too bad but it will reoccur and get worse over time. A vet which you say you can't afford would need to put sutures over the opening that need to be cut loose as soon as she goes into labor or her contractions will tear them... just like trussing up a Thanksgiving turkey with the lacing to keep the stuffing in. It's a hereditary weakness and the dog shouldn't be bred she can pass the trait to her daughters

Vaginal prolapses tend to reoccur with every heat cycle. If it is not treated, the exposed mucous membranes may dry out and slough off--a nasty infection may develop. She desperately needs to have this treated now, and look for a low cost spay/neuter program in your area so you can have her spayed before her next heat.

Why don't you spay her? Spca has a great spay/neuter service (1 day a month) . You pay according to your income. It starts at 10 or 15 dollars, for people with low incomes.Give them a call, there is no need to put your dogs life in danger.
