    Want to live with mom
Hi my name is courtney and I am 17 years old I live with my dad who has custody of me but I want to move back in with my mom because my step mom hit me across the face and I no longer feel safe there and I fear that something worse could happen to me what are my moms chances of winning me back? I live in Pennsylvania so if you could tell me it would be greatly appriciated thank you I just really want to know what my chances are of being happy again and living somewhere where I feel safe

Can you wait until you turn 18? Then you can go where you want. (You might want to call your local Legal Aid Society - some state laws allow children as young as 14 to choose which parent they live with).

First, Let me say I don't believe in hitting a child, not like your talking about - I don't think it does any good. That being said... was this because of something you did or said? Like yelling at her or back talking? Are there problems in the home? I guess what I'm trying to ask is this a one time thing or on going? And What does your dad say about it?

Having your mom file papers with the court only to have your dad say It was a one time thing, you were yelling and spit in your stepmoms face (not saying that happened) and her reaction was to slap you... that won't get you to your moms, if anything it will have the Judge say something to you about your behavior and dismiss the case.

So to better help you, you might want to explain some of the background.
