    Crawl Space Odor
We recently bought our first house and it is a ranch style with a crawl space with a sump pump for the ground water (we have city sewers). While we were out of town for a weekend the sump pump went out and flooded the crawl space. Some of the plastic was torn on the dirt mound during the repair of the sump pump and the some of the area is still damp and muddy. How do we dry it out? Our vents are closed for the winter. We've also noticed an odor in the crawl space that seems to be coming up through our floor heating vents. Is this possible and how do we get rid of the odor?

I think opening the vents may help -- or placing 20" box fan on floor joists blowing

Down will create air flow and dry up the moisture -- There are more suggestions below

There are several solutions you could try to dry out that area

How to dry out crawl space ?
