    Minor Name Change
    I have a 5 yr old daughter & her biological father & I have a judgement in Michigan. He can not see her until he takes action because he did not show up for court. He has not seen her in 3 yrs. I now live in Illinois, and I want her to have my last name. She currently has his. Is this possible??

    Certainly; a petition to change the name of your child is relatively simple. Your state will probably require that you have personal service on the father; your attorney can explain further.
