How do guys typically handle breakups?
It's been about 6 weeks since the breakup. About 3 weeks of strict NO CONTACT. (It's killing me).

I was talking to a mutual friend and I stupidly, STUPIDLY asked if my exe has mentioned me lately. She said he hasn't mentioned me at all since the break-up. 6 freakin' weeks and he hasn't mentioned me at all? We were ENGAGED? How is he able to do that?

Am I really that expendable? He even said he loved me when we broke up. Yet he is able to walk away so easily? I guess he is doing okay with it. She said is moving on and rebuilding his life.

This really broke my heart. I thought he would miss me.

I'm wondering how guys typically deal with breakups? Do they discuss it with anyone? Do they just never look back and pretend we fell off the face of the Earth?

Yes we do discuss it with people, but I wouldn't discuss it with a mutual friend at all. We do try to act tough and not let it show that it bothers us. It really depends on the grounds for why the relationship has ended... Can you shed some light as to why you guys broke up then maybe we can help you try to understand?

I can almost guarantee that he is still thinking about you, he may not tell this mutual friend out of knowing that she will tell you. He could very well need some time to think things over, going No Contact was your best foot forward. You are heading towards healing so if he doesn't come back you are already beginning to move on. Just continue what you are doing and what will be, will be. There is nothing you can do or say to change his mind

Thank you. I hope you are right.

I am just having a very difficult time with this breakup. Mainly, because it was mostly my doing. (I really was awful.) I just hope I get a chance to prove to him I can be my old self again...

He's having just as hard of a time as you are... us, as guys, are just better at hiding it.

Lol.. only sometimes Sneeze... My ex, an incredible hider of feelings lol. But I agree, with how it sounds, he is just as hurt and maybe with time he will try to contact you. But DO NOT wait around for him, life is too short to worry about what he is doing or if he will call. Never let someone become your priority when you are just an option

The answer to this question is it really depends on how the relationship was.. there are many factors that reveals someone's attitude after a break up factors depends on how it ended.. or how the relationship was as a whole.. was there more happy times than sad? Did it end well? Jealousy? Trust issues? So many to list... I can say from experience if your relationship was based on lies, constant arguing, etc.. You may still think about the person but you realize that you would much rather be alone and not go through that... and may be able to cope with a breakup faster.. it really depends on the individual, some people hide their emotions... Overall try not to ask someone else about if and when he talks about you.. because while he is working on getting his life back together you should be doing the same.

If your upset, because they ex hasn't run crying to his friends, let it go. Instead, read the many threads in "relationships" to see what us guys go through, when we get dumped by our females.
