    Monohybrid Crosses
    A plant that is heterozygous for green pods is crossed with a plant that has yellow pods. What are the probable genotypic ratios in the off spring of this cross?

    You need to draw a punnett square and all will become clear.
    Write out each parent's genotype i.e. you can get tall or short cats, tallness being the dominant trait. The tall allele is donated by T the small allelle is donated by t.

    Homo = same
    Hetero = different

    Therefore a cat heterozygous for tallness would be TT
    a homozygous cat for tallness would be Tt
    A short cat would have to be homozygous tt

    If you draw out a punnett square like the one below and fill it in you can work out what the kittens of two tall cats, one homozygous and the other heterozygous would be.

    Now have a look at my example and try to apply it to the situation you have been given.
    I'll check your answer if you post it up :)
