    ITIN, H4 - Resident or Non-Resident alien
    Hi,

I have been to USA on H1-B Visa in Jan 2007 and started working at the client’s place from Feb 2007 after getting SSN. I got married in May 2007 in India and wife joined me here in USA on Sept 15, 2007 on H4 Visa. She is a House-wife.
Can I claim her as a dependent? Correct me, If I am wrong?

One more question, do I need to wait 183 days after my wife’s arrival to USA to file my taxes? As she stepped in to USA on Sept 15, 2007, looks like I have to wait till Mar 15, 2007 to file my taxes and ITIN, please correct me if I am wrong?

What should I mention the Status for my wife?

    Thanks,
    Ram
