    Slow drain
    Water from my washer backs up and I have to stop the washer to keep the basement from slight flooding. What could be causing this? I do not have trees in my front yard where the sewer pipes are, but could it be from neighbors' trees?

    Has it gotten worse or do you have a new washer? The stand pipe should be at least 2" or better and at least 30" tall, what do you have? In could be a clog building up but try to answer my questions the best you can.

    It is not a new washer and the drain has been the same for 30 years. It is in the basemmt and backs up onto the basement floor.it doesn't. Before I would Rotorooter it but I had all of the trees removed so I am not sure what is causing it.

    It is plugged again and not all plugs are tree roots. Hair from showers and lint from washing machines can plug a drain over time. If you use a pro its time to make that call again and ask them to rod to the street or tank.

    If you had problem with roots in the past and had trees cut but stumps not removed, the roots are still alive and growing.
