    Hello,

The IRS offers a free-file referral service and since it is endorsed by the tax gurus, I'm guessing that the listed compnies must be reputable: Free File Home - Your Link to Free Federal Online Filing

Personally, in the past I have filed online here without any problems but you must pay to file your taxes here: H&R Block | Taxes, Online Tax Preparation, Tax Software, Filing Advice, Help & Tax Return Information

Most of taxpayers with incomes at or below $54,000 can file their returns for free. Go to Internal Revenue Service and click the link "Use Free File to Prepare Your Taxes."
