Taxes for Part Year on L1A
    Hi

I moved to the US on 29 Nov 07 with my wife and 2 kids on an L1 A visa. I need some help on filing my taxes.

What form do I use to file my income tax returns?
Can I claim my spouse and kids as dependents?

    Can someone please advise?

    Thanks & Regards

You CAN file jointly with your wife, but it may be better and a LOT simpler to file as a non-resident alien by yourself.

It depends on how much you made in the four weeks you worked in the U.S. and whether your employer paid for your moving expenses.

You can email the 2007 income details at the email address below and I will run an estimate for you.
