I received a tattoo gun and supplies for christmas, and so far can only outline properly. When I try to color or shade my tattoo in however, the color always comes out spotty and uneven. I have only had one turn out right and haven't had any luck since. It is not the gun, it is a shader, it is meant to fill in color, and I am sure that I have the correct adjustment settings-- I think it has something to do with the way I'm holding the gun. Any tips?

Unless you are an apprentice who has studied years under a professional, you shouldn't be tattooing anyone, not even yourself, With health risks like AIDS and H IV, the tattoo gun you have probably did not come with an autoclave, let alone instructions on even how to clean it. It is a health risk and it's not wise to perform things like tattoos on yourself or anyone else unless you're a professional and certified by the local health department.

Charlotte was spot on. You shouldn't tattoo people unless you know what you are doing. You can disagree and give me a reddie if you want, but please know this : we are not allowed, nor do we even want to, give out information when we don't know the circumstance, for example, if you are licensed, or at least an apprentice.

If you go out and tattoo someone and it comes out bad, or even worse, you hurt someone, I do not want it on my head that I handed you some information that aided in hurting that person. That is why charlotte said what she said. I hope you understand now.

May I suggest you buying a couple of the reference books on the subject.
