Try applying pressure in each direction on the steering wheel and attempt to turn the key.

OK I am answering my own question, we tried everything to unlock the key switch- found out that if I called a locksmith he would come out and fix it for me. Something was jammed in the key switch and it costs me $90.00 to get him to "unjam" it. If it wouldn't have been fixable, he said for the cost of $225.00 he would drill it and replace the entire switch. Anyway this was caused from my keychain having too many keys on it! :D

    Thanks mowerman2468 for your help!
