    Credit Card Debt British Columbia
I have been contacted by a lawyer regarding a debt with TD Visa. The last time I used a Visa card was at least 8 years ago (and no I no longer have any records). I have not received any correspondence regarding this debt in all that time even though I informed the bank of every change of address plus my phone number. The lawyer says I have 10 days to respond to their demand for payment. I'm pretty sure this would be stat barred by now in British Columbia. I told their office that, and they said too bad they'll still take me to court. Can they do this? I've requested a credit report but I'm pretty sure that will take more than 10 days... what to do? How do I respond to the lawyers, letter when it arrives? Thanks for your help in advance.
