    Alternative to escape key
    Hi Experts,

    I got a problem with my PC, only escape key is not working. Would like to know if there is any alternative we can make use of :confused: If anybody has brilliant tweak or combination of keys that can amulate escape key.
    Well Please be kind enough I know onscreen keyboard.. other than this anything else is highly appreciated.

    You can try a key-mapping program, such as SharpKeys to reassign the Esc key to some other key. The beauty of this program is that it doesn't load a driver or anything, just makes a registry change.

    You can buy a new keyboard for virtually nothing these days, I would just replace it!

    Tip #289 - Alternative <escape> that allows you to do a "quick and dirty insert" and get out into normal mode : vim online

    Hold down [alt] and press [F4] it shuts down the window just like closing it

    I have tried the vim alternative, which surprisingly works else where too.

    Its Ctrl + [

    But currently I am using ubuntu.Didn't try it on Windows, but should work, I guess. And this seems to work on websites too, like on Facebook when you are viewing a pic, using can press this combination, and it works.
