    SS Disability-Garnishments?
    [F]

I will soon be on SS Disability (after a 3 year wait for a appeal hearing)... I have two judgements on me now, one was a credit car, the other a repo of my mobile home balance. Can they or any other credit get a garnishment order to my bank(s) on my SS income. I can't work, so there is no earned income at all. I am told they can't touch it, but that I need an attorney to write up such a notice to the bank(s) I do business with..
I just want to confirm what I have heard and get some input from others that are really in the know.

    Hello rae:

You don't need an attorney. If you have paperwork granting you your SS disability, then show that to the bank. Don't put ANY other money in that account. That will stop the bank from taking your money.
