    How many days after being arrested does the state have to file charges on a person in the state of Florida in st lucie county

    I'm a little confused.

    Don't you have to have a charge already filed, to be arrested in the first place?

    Hello Michael:

    Different crimes have different statutes of limitations. If it's just a misdemeanor, they probably have a year. If it's a felony, they can have up to 5 years.
