Need Advice/help
Me and my girlfriend have recently become sexually active
We are both 16 years old and were both virgins when we had sex
So far we have had sex 3 times: January 6, 10, and 12
All three times we used protection
On the 12th however, 2 days before when she usually has her period, after we had finished making love, we discovered that she had either bled a great deal
We thought it was just her menstruating early for some reason, but we're not sure
But now we are both worried that something is wrong and that she might be pregnant
So here are my questions:
Can a woman menstruate early because of sex?
Is it possible for a woman to release all of her menstrual fluid at once?
Can having sex cause a woman's cycle to start late without being pregnant?
Should me and my girlfriend be as worried as we are that she might be pregnant?
Any advice or help you may have is greatly appreciated!

I am no expert, but did she bleed the first time you two had intercourse? If not, the bleeding could be caused by intercourse. The blood could be from breaking the hymen? Stress, food, sex, hormones I think can all contribute to period changes. IT IS BEST TO SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE FROM A QUALIFIED DOCTOR ASAP.

She did bleed the first time (and second) from breaking the hymen
It is possible I suppose that it still could have been the hymen stretching even more that caused the bleeding, but based on how much she told me she bled after the second time, it seems unlikely
However, she told me just a short while ago that she started menstruating, so I am somewhat relieved
Thanks for the advice though
And if anyone has answers to my questions, I'd still like to know
Thanks

Its Good
Its good that you and your girlfriend are having safe sex:) that's a must in this day and age, but it would still be a good idear to get her to seek medical adivce if she lost a lot of blood whilst you where have intercourse.
As for women's cycle from what I understand, some people have them like clock work same time every month and yet some women have them here there and every where.

Any woman who bleeds during or after sex needs to have an internal examination by a doctor. They might want you to have a pelvic exam, if you have not had one before, just to make sure everything is OK.Vaginal bleeding after sex is, strangely, most commonly due to an infection of some sort. Infections can inflame the cervix and make it more prone to bleeding (called cervicitis). Most other things that make a vagina or cervix prone to bleeding also require at least consultation with a medical professional, so bleeding after sex is a good reason to see a doctor.

PrettynPetite1 is right, see a doctor right away. "Contact bleeding" can be caused by many different reasons at any age, and needs to be assessed by a physician. Please take your body serious, it's the only one you have. Don't want to scare you, but I myself and a lot of other women in the early stage of uterine cancer have bleeding after sex, and it's not a good sign. So go to the doc right away.
Good luck, and please keep us posted.

We are here 24/7 (if system allows) and will be glad to help you with any question that we can. If your girlfriend just recently started her menstrual cycles, she's pretty young, and her body might not have set a 'schedule' for her cycle yet. This often happens in young girls and can take up to two years to get 'regular', that's why it also very important to use extra protection on your part to avoid messing up the plans you have for your futures. But it's still best to see the doctor, as contact bleeding is not normal.
Remember to keep us posted.

It could also be that the hymen and the surrounding area hasn't had time to properly heal after the sexual experience. It takes time to heal. See a dr. anyway just to make sure. I had the same type of symptoms once and I had abnormal cervical cells, biopsies and cryo surgury managed to help me win that one and I've had no more since I was 14. I had just turned 13 when they diagnosted it.
