    Hd TV
    Hi guys and girls this is my first time asking a question. Iwant to know if my hd TV picture quality will improve if I get a hd box.if the program is not hd will I still get the short fat guys on screen like I get now with a normal receiver.

    Your HD TV is not displaying HD pictures unless you are using a HD tuner to receive HD broadcasts. You don't say how you get your TV signal, but if you are using cable, telco or satellite service, then you need an HD settop box to receive HD signals. Yes the picture is better on HD broadcasts.

    Hi scottgem I am using satellite if the program is not in hd will the quality of the picture be the same if I use a hd receiver or regular receiver

    Please do not start a new thread for a follow-up. I merged the threads for you.

    If the Program is not broadcast in HD, even on a HD channel, the picture will be different. For example. Many commercials are not broadcast in HD so they may have a black border around them, even on an HD channel. Another factor is the connection. I would definitely use an HDMI connection from the HD settop box for the best picture. But if you use a different connection you may not be getting the full HD experience.
