    Manufacturing costs vs COGS
What is the difference between unit manufacturing costs, and COGS?

    Aren't those the same things?

Manufacturing cost stays in the inventory, until that unit is sold then it became COGS, they are basically the same thing but based on the status of the unit, it goes to income statement (COGS), or stays in balance sheet-asset (manufacturing cost).
