I live in Florida. My divorce decree states that the "marital residence" be placed on the market when the children turn 18 years old or graduate high school.

I would like to "buy off" her portion and remain in the home. What kind of lawyer do I need to find to help me through this process?

Pretty much any Attorney - not an unusual situation and other than placing the home on the market as part of a divorce no different than any other sale.

Somebody sets a price, somebody negotiates, somebody does or doesn't accept - and it goes on and on. The problem turns up when one party thinks it's worth a lot more than the other party and so the negotiating goes on - and on - and on.

You may not need an attorney other than one to handle the closing. Get an appraisal of the property and make her an offer.
